Lucifer's Friend, previously known as Asterix, formed in Germany with the English singer John Lawton, later with Uriah Heep.
Their self-titled album released in 1970 it's a mixture of Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. In some tracks you can clearly hear, in the guitar playing,
some cliches that early metal will use.
The famous song "Ride in the sky" is a mixture of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song (hear the French horn) and Deep Purple (hear the intro voice).
Lucifer's Friend it's an album that combine heavy guitar riffs with often complex arrangements and high energy music.
